The IT Compliance Solutions (ITCS) team is looking for a IT Business Analyst to join our dynamic team!  The ITCS team supports systems designed to capture/monitor electronic communication and provides technical guidance to IT areas across the company that deploy technologies that enable electronic communication.  Since there are many solutions that enable electronic communication, there is a huge opportunity to work with many areas within the organization.  If that excites you, read on!

We are looking for a skilled IT Business Analyst to help support systems responsible for capturing, classifying, archiving, and monitoring electronic communication at Principal.  In this role, you will partner with members of the business to move initiatives forward and aid in the solution design process.   You will play an essential role in developing a strong partnership between our key business partners and technology teams.  The individual will also need to support ongoing business processes and operational activities.



  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in an IT related field or equivalent work experience
  • 1+ years of relevant (BA and/or QA) work experience required 
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Experienced in business analysis techniques (research, analysis, documentation, requirements elicitation, etc.)
  • Knowledge of relational databases, specifically SQL 
  • Experience in test planning & preparation, creation, and execution of test cases

Key Attributes:

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to be the technical liaison between internal business partners, vendors, and other IT partners
  • Must be able to quickly understand business partners’ needs, establish trust, and ultimately build strong relationships
  • Technical aptitude and ability to adapt to changing technologies
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to uncover root cause
  • Required to participate in an on-call rotation (approx. one out of every 5-6 weeks)
  • Willingness to experiment and work in various team roles
  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Vendor system support experience preferred
  • Strong desire to learn and comprehend regulatory needs and translate into system impacts
  • Able to manage and self-prioritize work, with limited guidance
